I think I used to download from Baidu with a Chrome tool and some small application called.. aria2 I believe? That I think downloaded from Baidu at normal speeds.
Funny enough. It only downloaded fast for me when it was nightime in my timezone.

jdownloader works for me on downloading links from baidu, you just have to know the link
