I have a really scratchy MP3 rip of this soundtrack, but I’d really like a clean copy, preferably lossless.

thanks!

Yes. I second this request.

The film was shot in Black & White so the scratchy MP3 rip you have I think is quite appropriate.

😀

Seriously though you do know these recordings are vintage and the crackling is part of the original recording correct?

Why you would want a lossless copy of this is baffling to me.

The scratchiness would be fine for me for a MP3 rip copy.

Yes, I understand that the tracks may contain some natural crackling. I have a vast collection of popular music recorded in the 1st half of the 20th C, in particular the 1920s and 30s, so I know my ‘crackles’.

The ‘scratchiness’ I was referring to is extraneous surface noise from a bad rip of the LP vinyl soundtrack, not the original recordings.

I prefer FLAC because it preserves a recording in its best possible state. Generally, I’m not a fan of MP3 and most of the music collector sites I frequent actively refuse mp3.
Too often a rare recording falls out of circulation, then all anyone can find is a substandard 128kbps mp3. Personally, I think its crucial to share lossless recordings wherever possible, especially if they’re rare/out-of-print, etc

I don’t know where I got this. It’s the complete album, but with no track breaks. This was done before digital technology, so the individual recordings are only as good as the source material. Enjoy!
