I tried searching for this on Google, but could only find a bunch of fanfic, and Final Fantasy sites and stuff. What I’m trying to find out is — what is the origin of Ragnarok, as seen as a sword and an esper in Final Fantasy VI (and a sword in several other FF games) and the airship in Final Fantasy VIII, among many other things. Was Ragnarok an ancient god or some sort of ancient sword? There’s gotta be some sort of legend behind it.

P.S.: I considered starting this in General Discussion, but I don’t really like that section and I thought it might be more fitting here.

My google must be better than yours ! (http://www.mysticgames.com/mythology/RAGNAROK.htm)

In a bit more detail (http://www.odinic-rite.org/CoO/ragnarok.html)

It’s basically a myth about the ultimate destruction of the gods in a battle with evil.

I really am quite bored =/

Yeah I don’t remember what group it was (Norse?) but it was basically Armageddon where Thor was slayed by some wolves or summat and Odin died by the Midgard Zolom iirc….just going off the top of my head.

Ragnarok is basically the Norse version of Armegeddon
