omg saddest anime ever*SPOILERS*

I just watched Samurai X:Reflection yesterday.iIT IS SAD! Samurai X: Trust and Betrayal is also incredibly sad!please discuss!

The saddest thing about this anime is that they absolutely butchered the final story arch from the manga, and ended the series in a way the author himself never would have ended it, thus killing off the original atmosphere of the series. (Watsuki is an author who avoids killing characters as much as possible, he likes his happy endings.)

If you’ve read the last 11 volumes of the manga, you’ll know what I mean. 🙁

no i havent read the manga.im not sure if i want to…if its really sad…in the movie…*holds back tears* HE DIES! omg how sad! his head is in kaoru’s lap and shes talkin about the cherry blosoms.and when he doesnt answer..she says"oh shinta/kenshin its finally over." and she cries. omg i was holdin back tears the whole way btw:im talkin about reflection but in trust and betrayal, kenshin accidentaly kills tomoe his own wife and he blames himself. oh what a horrible life he has.

Trust & Betrayal is the adaption of Kenshin’s flashback, as it appeared in the original manga, volumes 19-21.
This is the story that Kenshin reluctantly tells to his friends because Enishi has just returned and declared war on Kenshin and his friends, to take revenge on Kenshin.

Enishi’s attempt on revenge is the final part of the manga, and although it is pretty sad at times, Watsuki lets his story end with a happy end. As happy as an ending could be, actually.
You can read the manga without any danger. It has as good as nothing to do with that tear-jerking monster that is the Reflections OVA.

I know a lot of people who were disappointed or shocked by the final OVA, but believe me, the manga is different, and the manga tells the real story, as the author intended it to happen.
(With Saito, Aoshi and Misao = Good!)

whew. thank you i will read the manga a.s.a.p. ! i was surprised that they didnt show all the characters like saito and misao.i bet the manga will be waaaay better!

My friend really likes this show.. so im a lil bit against this.

Yea the fight scenes rock!escpecially th eone on th ebeach! and in trust and betrayal, therrs so much blood and gore!it ssuch a graphic anime. lol i stil am glad i bought it ^^

I agree with Tokiko. I HATED samurai x’s ending. it was totally unexpected. and even though i hate to admit it, i cried after watching that oav.

The ending of Reflection was okay…although a bit chopped up. The Revenge Arc should had been discuss more. Oh Well.
The OVA was a lot better. It made me sad and cried. Although the manga was a lot better of portraying Kenshin and Tomoe relationship, the anime was good itself too. Just hated it when Tomoe died. Poor Kenshin..but then, its one of the reason he repented.
