Olievert

Im playin through FF9 for the first time an’ i just got thru Olievert. while i wuz there i noticed i couldnt use any of my Black/White mage’s magic. is it supposed to be like that or is my game screwed up? just wonderin’.

If I remember correctly, Kuja told Zidane that all magic was null in Olievert. For that reason, I took only physical attackers as my party (ie. Steiner, Freya, and Amarant). Some of Freya’s dragon magic worked, like the Resis’ Wind.

I think Kuja’s line to Zidane was: "I’m sending you there becasue you’re too stupid to use magic." Or something of sorts… 😉

Yeah, I remember that part of the game too. I took all my physically strong characters and then found myself struggling with the next part of the game due to the fact that my characters couldn’t attack physically to save their lives. Got through it eventually though…
