nudity in videogames

What’s your opinon on nudity in console video games? With the announcement of Dave Mirra XXX which will feature a create a player mode that will make it possible to create a topless female (and you can increase her bust size) and FMV of real life strippers, it’s become a real possiblity.

Dead or Alive Xtreme Beach Volleyball is also rumored to have a topless mode and feature see through bikinis, but this isn’t confirmed as of yet.

So what yall think?

EDIT: Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention they’re both aiming for a "M" ESRB rating. Both Sony and Microsoft have stated that they will not allow "Adult Only" games on their systems, but Nintendo has yet to comment. (I’m giving you all this info because I can’t find an article on it on the internet, I’m getting this from a magazine.)

I don’t think this is a good idea cuz u buy games for what they r eg. a game has a killer story or real good graphics or gameplay. I won’t buy any game just becuz it hase nudity in it now way.

Depends. I don’t really like the hardcore XXX stuff, but it’s kinda funny whenever you see comical use of it. As for the game you’re talking about…whoa, I ain’t plannin’ on buying that.

Just because you can create a topless female character in a BMX game doesn’t mean it’s gonna be more fun. However, if it’s a great game, and it has some comical nudity in it, it’ll probably be alright. If I want nudity, I’ll go get some porn.

I think Dave Mirra XXX is going to be a load of bull. I can already picture the game being horrible.

But DOA Volleyball seems kinda interesting. I’ll probably try that…for the game of course.

I’m ok w/ a little nudity here and there (duznt an FF have a naked girl in a town beginning w/ a T? its an older one), but I dont enjoy the being able to only see the naked girls and increase their bust size. That is akta-chtaman seno (p!ssing me off, for those of u who don’t know Leeloo’s lang)! Its rather degrading. i wouldnt think much of it if u could increase something of the guys…;)

A vast majority of the public will probably know nothing about the XXX section of Dave Mira’s XXX therefore I don’t think it will sell extra because of this. And DoA Beach Volleyball I will buy because they are very sexy, probably wont even play the extra modes or however to unlock it.

And movies are rated "R" with lots of nudity so i’m sure games can be rated "M" with some nudity.

Wow, it’s great that games are now including porn so that they can sell more copies. It’s actually a good idea. You can store much more information on some of the consoles’ discs and they’re harder to copy. But this whole "game that revolves around scantily clad/naked" concept is mostly for people that are too scared to actually watch porn. Just my opinion, anyway. I will not dish out that much money to buy a poorly conceived game just because it has naked women. It’s actually sort of an insult to all gamers’ collective intelligence.

i liked the past dave mirra games so i would of probobly bought it even if it didnt have nudity in it

As long as it’s done tastefully I don’t mind. Just as long as they don’t overdo it

I agree with Gehenna on this.As long as it’s done tasefully,it’s ok.Nakedness is a part of human nature and this world will never get rid of it.I must say though,"M" rated games are pretty much a myth or lore because,simply put,there aren’t many "M" games out there.Probably because Kid and Teen gamers outnumber adult gamers 20:1.That and I bet there about 1,000,000,000 screaming mothers out there yelling at the game producers about what they have put in the games.So then the mothers get their way,turning an action filled thrill game into "The Adventures of Fuzzums:The Magical Pink Bunny".

Actually, I believe the largest game market for consoles is ages 20 – 35, not teens.

Whoa…!That must mean that alot of adualts either don’t work ,make alot of money to purchase game,or don’t have much of a life(no offence to adults here!)

There’s a whole bunch of "M" games around. Some of my favorite games of all time are "M." "AO" on the other hand, now there aren’t many of those (none for consoles).

I saw the same article in Game Informer magizine.

Personally, I think it should be allowed. I mean, the ESRB have made an "A" rating, yet we have no A games. Really, the closest I’ve ever seen a video game nudity is Rings of Power, where there is a code to make the girl in the "Naughty Dawg" banner topless. And that game was rated..T, I think? Anyway, getting back to my point, I believe it should be allowed. Because really, what the hell’s so wrong with the human form exposed? Who made it such a big deal in the first place? Ugh, it sickens me really.

U know, nothin is wrong w/ the human form exposed. EXCEPT in certain cases, like video games for example. They make it sexual. In case u havent noticed, being ‘nude’ ("not naked, thats smut"-a Marilyn M. photographer) is an art form. its in art all of the time. The problem with this VG crap is that u can only make the WOMEN topless, and n that stupid game, increase the bust size! WTF! I have seen plenty of things w/ naked girls, but where are all of the guys? Dont u think that would b something, to increase something of the guys? Hell, I wouldn’t care if u could even see the penis, i just think it would be hellafunny if u could increase it under his clothes. 😯 :lol 😀 🙂 😉 :p

I think its something we really want now, and its building up suspence till that game comes with nudity…but afterwards i’m sure all the hype will die down.
