Thank you for contacting the PlayOnline Information Center,

If you log into a machine that does not have the expansion installed and your account does, you will not be able to access any of the new features or areas included in the expansion. This means that if your character is in an expansion area, you will not be able to access that character from that device.

Word to the wise who own the PC and the PS2 version: Get the PS2, ask a friend for the PC version and burn it.

I was tempted to do that, but with the upcoming expansion , this could make things hard, as I believe my friend hasn’t the game for very long since he never seems to be online.

Still a good idea, if you have both a PS2 and decent enough PC.

I just don’t know if retyping all my macros wouldn’t annoy me though lol

There are actually some good programs flying around that lets you edit your FFXI macros from outside of the game, copy and paste stuff yanno? ^_^

From one version to the other ? That’s interesting.

Not exactly from one version to another, it’s just an easier way to just type in Macros faster than in game… because editing Macros in game does take awhile and you have a spell list right there on some website so you can just copy and paste stuff.
