I noticed one thing in FFXI, no one uses the Chatmode Say that often. Most of the time people use Shouts… and annoyingly as well!

What about your server? Do they use "say" often? 😮

I’m on cerberus and it seems like everyone likes to flood the window with shouts. It’s quite irritating sometimes when I’m looking for a teleport :\

Most of Sylph doesn’t get too shout heavy, but I swear to god, /shout is all people ever use in Bastok Markets. I hate going near the AH there.

Nothing frusterates me more then when people put shouts in their macro though. I’ll be in Tahrongi Canyon, trying to farm, and having THIS IS NOT A SNEAK ATTACK and WHAT DID THE FIVE FINGERS SAY TO THE HAND keep appearing on my screen over and over.

I know you can just turn off shouts, but I don’t want to have to do that. I want to be able to see if someone shouts for help, or anything like that.

I was partying in Valkurm yesterday and someone brought along a powerleveler who happened to be leveling cooking on Pineapple Juice, which was nice for me ’cause he kept giving me it. We frequently communicated with /say, just because there were some things we wanted both the other person and the party to hear.
It was funny, though, because another party started camping near us and got all mad about our THF’s /em macro for SA (that wasn’t that annoying, I just ignored it) and our /saying.. and we’re like "You chose to camp by us, deal with it."

It’s /sh that’s a killer though..
