and how do I use the FLAC converter without eac, which seems to hate my older discs?

Notice in the log that some tracks failed accuraterip and that there were errors reported in track 1… There are no audible glitches at the places it highlights though and you’re in secure mode.

Are you by any chance ripping on a laptop drive?

Now, if I may make a suggestion. If you would like to make sure that your rips are 100%, then this tutorial will help you to do that. Read everything very closely. And it will work with the new version of EAC.

You may also want to include a CUE file with your upload. You will need to create it as a noncompliant CUE sheet with gaps detected. That way when someone burns your rip to a CD with your CUE file they will get an exact copy of your disc. If you follow the direction on the EAC guide you’ll be able to do this.

Yea, this is a newer disc for me. I found this at a used cd store last year for like 3 bucks. The disc looks pristine, to me. A lot of my older discs, pre pc especially, are visibly worn. They play fine for me, but EAC hates them. Now, things get ripped, then never touched again. But yea, this is def a favorite Elfman for me. Better than the movie really deserved…(fan of the book, though)
