Have to have the console connected online once a day
Have to have the console connected online to install a game
HDD can not be removed by gamers
Is not backwards compatible
Loan a game to a friend, they have to pay a fee to play it on their console
Buy a secondhand game, have to pay a fee to play it on your console
Built in Kinect
Emphasis more on being a home media centre, than a gaming console

All the info we have so far, does nothing but kill gamers opinions of the Xbox One. Indeed stock has risen in Nintendo and Sony following this release:(

Which is only natural I guess (I think the same thing happened when the Xbox 360 was initially released though I may be wrong). All in all, this is a PR and marketing disaster. However, E3 is coming up and the release for the console is still some time away… All we can hope for is that MS ‘wakes’ up and realises what they’ve done is effectively ostracized the console and their fanbase, and effect changes to correct some of these issues… otherwise it’s clear that Microsoft will loose the next battle in the console war.

Indeed, I must admit from what I’ve read/heard, I’m not impressed at all with the travesty MS has made. Still…. I have no intention of buying either Next Gen console until 12 – 18 months have passed by release.

I’m just going to treat all this as speculation until E3 and then when the consoles have been officially released…

After reading what you’ve put in your post, my wait to play the new Halos shall be further postponed.

More info… it’s been confirmed that the Xbox One WILL be region locked.

In the Brave New World of televisions you talk to and devices that watch you while you sleep, we somehow still have a need for region locking. A Microsoft rep confirmed to Digital Trends that, yes, the Xbox One will be region locked and, yes, that region locking will look similar to the method used on the Xbox 360.

“Similar to the movie and music industry, games must meet country-specific regulatory guidelines before they are cleared for sale,” said the Microsoft representative. “We will continue to work with our partners to follow these guidelines with Xbox One.”

Much like Blu-rays, region locking is limited to the publishers and distributors who demand them. But still, it’s a little disappointing that such an archaic system and way of thinking is being perpetuated by new technology.

From what I’ve read on some other sites and forums about this, nothing but rage and hate towards MS… Honestly, this never bothered myself as I never imported any games from the UK etc… but meh… smh

360 was also region locked.
not so very counted games, but the system itself was.
