Unfortunately some of these "great violin concertos" were recorded by the not-so-great Takako Nishizaki, Naxos producer Klaus Heymann’s wife – and the reason why he went into the recording business. The early efforts, with Nishizaki as soloist and the likes of Kenneth Jean as conductor, were substandard efforts. There are MANY more compelling alternatives. Later, Naxos got better with Ilya Kaler (in the Dvork and Schumann) or Dong-Suk Kim (Elgar) as soloists.
