I have a question. What is the easiest and best way to rip music off of a Playstation game. I have the Digimon World 2 and 3 games in front of me but I don’t know how to go about getting the music off of them. Could someone help me please?

Use PSound, it’s a freeware program, and it rips many PS2 audio format too.
You can download it on my music thread (first link of my sig). There’s also many others things in my thread, to rip PSX/PS2 games. You can download them, and trying.

All right, thanks. Does it do the job automatically, or do i have to screw around with it?

You have to screw around with it, and it doesn’t like doing Stereo music either.

I have Digimon World 2003 (Rerelease of Digimon World 3 for Europe only with new mission after Galacticmon’s defeat) and yet I can’t rip from it.

Unless the music is streamed (as .wav or in a composite XA format) you have to rip the code and convert it into a .PSF file. Some PSX games used Redbook music, in that case just rip it as any CD Audio disc but most are midi seqenced.

See Neil’s site for apps and details: http://www.neillcorlett.com/psf/

You can download most PSF and PSF2 rips from: http://www.tzone.org/~llin/psf/

There is no easy way in making PSF/PSF2 files 🙁

If the game has a music test menu you could just record it, that is a better process as emulation is inaccurate…but time consuming.

You probably can’t since GC is ISO based images like PSX…it’s a DVD image you have and finding sound files and then emulating them is really not an option.

I don’t know how GC music is ripped except for recording it from the actual game. Try a search on Google.

Yeah, i discovered that the gamecubes games have different formats depending the game itself, so the file type changes with every game.

Also the type of file i want to rip is unknown at the moment, but im trying to get some help for experts in another forums.

See ya.

Interesting…keep me posted. If you get it be nice to know how to do it.

Yeah most systems seem to have multiple sound formats, some easy and some…hard.
