Do you listen to the music and sound effects in game or put on music on a cd player or sumthin and listen to that instead when playing games…….for me usually when its a FF I listen to the games music but if im doing summit boring init like leveling up i stick music on:cool: For most games I just listen to music instead.
What do you prefer?

Depends on what game I am playing. On PS2 games I play with the game musics. On PC it depends on the game. In games like Warcraft3 and Unreal Tournament I play music I like (preferably Evanescence and Linkin Park). But in RO and Morrowind I play with the game music.

There are some games where my system doesn’t like me playing my MP3s in the background on my PC. Morrowind being one of them. It groans and complains and doesn’t like me pressing skip and all this crazy sort of stuff. So in game music there.

Colin McRae 2 and Quake III have the Winamp treatment to "aid" my concentration. Console games, I normally whack a CD in if I’m levelling up on an RPG, otherwise I listen to the in game music to get the right atmosphere. And if I’m playing GT3, it’s CD music all the way.

If I play normally, I listen to the real music, if it is not too bad.
But recently we discovered the beauty of listening to CDs while levelling up or while fighting a hard boss (especially when its for the hundredth time).

Example: We soon grew tired of the relatively boring music from Lunar 2s end boss battle. So we listened to a lot of great music from a CD… erh… where the Londoner Symphonic Orchestre plays rock songs. Its fun when your characters happen to move in harmony with the music. =P
Hey, I had to fight this battle ten times… Hehe… it would have been hell without good music.

It depends on the game I guess and the repetiveness of the music. Like for instance, when I’m levelling up in a random RPG game I tend to put off the game music and put on the cd or just the radio
The same tune over and over again is… quite annoying ^^

or whenever I keep on dieing (not that it happens much) in the same dungeon or alike thing… and then the music gets boring as well.

And one dungeon were I always play a music cd is with Lufia II and the ‘Old cave’ x.x All 99 levels through.

Of course I listen to the background songs in video games especially if they’re good. But if the music annoys my family then I would just mute the music.
