<font color=red face="comic sans ms">There’s only four Moonstones in the game:
Impress all 100 nobles in the sword fight in the play near the start of the game. Then when you have control of Steiner, talk to Brahne, and she will give you it.
Find the red, green, yellow and blue stones on the Conde Petie Mountain Path and put them in the statue along the path somewhere, and you get a Moonstone from it.
Find and help the friendly Jabberwock.
Get from one of Stiltzkin’s packages (I forgot where though).
So, they’re the only ones you’ll be able to get. Use them wisely, or something. 😉

ive been levelling up there….its great, the grand dragons give 11,000exp!!!

some of my characters are going up 2/3lvl’s each battle… most of my party are now on lvl 50 from lvl 20ish in one FF session!!

Gimme Cats are fake friendly monsters ! Don’t throw them diamonds because they just run away and it’s not worth fighting them because you only get 4 EXP, but you do get 5000 gil which I guess is an upside.

Draven : Please don’t post irrelevant comments, irrelevance is spam. Thank you.

dont worry…i didnt feed their habit for precious stones, i just beat the living crap outta it instead, they’re pretty soft really. 4AP’s ok….1EXP sucks though….

The Moonstone is in Stiltzkin’s very last package, kupo. Visit the bell tower in Alexandria in Disc 4 and he will be there and will seel you a Moonstone and a couple of other things for 5555 gil. I think you may need to have visited Mognet Central first before he shows up there, but I’m not sure.

Moonstone has a few different uses. It’s requested by one of the Friendly Monsters, so you need it to complete the Friendly Monsters quest. That’s why one of the Friendly Monsters gives one to you – you’re going to need it later to complete that quest. It’s one of the items needed to get the Pearl Rouge at the Synthesis Shop. (Pearl Rouge is add-on that can be equipped by female party members, which teaches Level Up, Reflect Null and Loudmouth and also reduces Holy damage incurred and raises Holy Attack) Also, if Eiko equips a Moonstone as her Add-On, then if she summons Carbuncle, instead of Ruby Light, it casts Pearl Light, which uses Protect and Shell on all party members.

Edited to note that Moonstone also teaches Beast Killer and Shell when equipped as an Add-On and that, like any gem, it restores HP when used in battle. (Although you’d have to be pretty silly to waste it like this.)
