I understand your question, but it’s not that easy to categorize a lot of monsters in Final Fantasy. There are the obvious ones; undeads and such, but it’s honestly pretty difficult to properly categorize a lot of monsters.

As for the Classifications if it looks like a demonic Plant ala Malbro then chances are it is. Use your best judgement to make up your mind. Some monsters are easy to see such as Wolf or Goblin but others you wonder what the makers were smoking. If you really though want to classify them read Myths and Legends alot of the start material comes from them and some Legendary monsters such as Medusa, Chimera, Basilask, Dragons, Werewolves, Behemoths, Shiva, Ifrit, Leviathan, Rocs, Witches, and countless others have made it into the games in some form or fashion. Really just use your brain to figure it out.

Ha! That’s a good one. xD But seriously, I think it’s near damn impossible to properly categorize many of the monsters in Final Fantasy.

Well basically they are all different but SE likes to mix it up and make two of the same monster, change their color schemes, and give them a new name.
