Two early works of Mikis Theodorakis from 1961-1963 remastered in a new release of 2011. You will find scanned a nice 24p booklet with rare archive photos from the period of the original recordings. There are 20 songs and 2 instrumental pieces in total. Both works refer to the city of Athens. Theodorakis introduced a new young female singer, Ntora Yiannakopoulou, who sings 4 songs from "Beautiful City". Also, at track no 19, you will meet a legendary Greek-Gypsy songwriter and singer, Kostas Hatzis, excellent guitarist who made a brilliant career and continues to sing till today. Enjoy another disc in lossless.

Both works were written for thetrical-musicals held in Athens, with the participation of many top composers, poets, musicians, singers and dancers. The musical "Magic City", remained as an historical moment of the Greek musical scene, since it joined the two ‘sacred monsters’ of the Greek music, Mikis Theodorakis and Manos Hadjidakis, who covered the performance with their wonderful music
