Wow, thanks so much, DAK! One of my all-time favourite animations! I never knew there was a vinyl of this! And the artwork is FANTASTIC!! As this is the first time I’ve downloaded one of your vinyl rips – how do I get it into iTunes without converting it to mp3?

Well I know you’re on a Mac, so if you don’t already have XLD downloaded – download it and convert to Apple Lossless. That’s what I do and that’s how I got the screenshot from my iTunes. If you need help, I’ll happily guide you but not when it’s 4AM sicne I’m headed to bed. Zzzz……

The moment I saw you’d replied, I was like "DAK’s up late!!" Lol. I don’t think I have XLD – I’ll check it out when I get the chance, but I won’t be downloading it until I’ve got more room on my Mac. I’ve currently only got about 200MB left on my hard drive! I’ve got a 1TB external hard drive coming in the post tomorrow (Thursday). Just out of curiosity, why not rip to Apple Lossless in the first place? Wouldn’t that be more convenient? Or are there some players that don’t play m4a?

Ahh that’s easy. Simply because Audacity does not rip in Apple Lossless, only FLAC. What I do is rip the vinyl via Audacity, export the entire side as a FLAC file, open it with Adobe Audition, tweak the volume, split up the tracks and export in FLAC. I then use XLD to convert to Apple Lossless and that’s how I listen to my vinyls in iTunes.

How do you have those files showing in iTunes? I can’t seem to figure out how to… and I don’t want to pay for an app or whatever that will not work with the next update.

Because what’s in iTunes obviously isn’t FLAC. It’s Apple Lossless. There are plenty of free converters out there.
