What do you think of Metroid Prime? I think that they are both some of the best first person shooters out there. I just got number 2 back from a friend, and while I was playing it, I thought to myself "I wonder what the people on the Shrine think of it", so, what do you think?

Eh, I’ll talk about Metroid Prime, since that’s what the title of the thread is.
I think it’s a really great game. I was really suspicious at how the movement from side-scrolling to 3-D would take place; and I was a little nervous to. Super Metroid is my favorite game, and I wanted Metroid Prime to be at least good. But the transition was done so smoothly and elegantly. I found the gameplay to be better than I thought, the graphics were good, and the level design was awesome. My favorite gaming music also makes a return in Metroid Prime, when you are in the fire environment. They remade the music from Super Metroid’s Norfair (the part when you are going to defeat Ridley), and put it in this game. I seriously had goosebumps the entire time the music was playing.

Yeah, both Metriod Prime 1 and 2 had story lines that made sense (well, not really in #2’s case), and the game play was very enjoyable for a fps. Metriod Prime 2 really outdid itself graphic wise, though. Retro Studios really worked on that one. It looked so much more life like than number one, and the entire light/dark Ather was really cool. The bosses were really cool, too. Like Meta-Ridley, for example. He has got to be the coolest boss I have ever seen in any video game, right next to Dark Samus anyway.

My only Complaint is that there is to much backtracking.
