Metal Gear Solid: Guns of the patriots

Am i the only one that`s feeling a little underwhelmed by not only the look of the game but snakes appearance. I was hoping they would set it after MGS2 so we`d have a young snake just in his prime, something that reflected Big Boss in MGS3. But, by the looks of things, no, we have an old age pensioner with a machine gun. Also, it seems, there`s MG REX and Ray hybrids set in amongst an urban warfare setting. What`s you first impressions?

It is set just after MGS2. Snake is a clone of Big Boss, and when the clones were created Big Boss was already an old man in his 50s – because of this the aging process on the clones is sped up. Liquid already told Solid of his fate in MGS2 – "Another few years and you’ll be another dead clone of the old man."

MGS4 looks excellent, to say the least. I’m very hyped up for it.

How can anyone not be impressed by that trailer?

Also, Raidenex, i actualy haven`t seen the trailer, i only found out today they released one.

I think my perception will change but above all else, i can`t get past Snakes old looks.

I’d say it’s under 10 years, which may as well be directly after.
I think it’s about time Snake started showing some signs of aging. Haha.

Very true but something about snakes appearance puts me off. I know technically it`s a different person but i prefer his MGS3 counterpart.

Ok. That link wouldn`t ork but i found my own. I gotta say, it really does look great although i`m still pissed about the era. Does this mean no Ocelot? It`d be a shame to get rid of him so easy. Also it looks like Snake is being affected with Foxdie, does this mean he`ll be dead by the end? The last Metal Gear?

Kojima did say in an interview that it is the end of the ‘Solid’ Trilogy – MGS1, MGS2 and MGS4. He described MGS3, MG1 and MG2 as the ‘Big Boss’ Trilogy.

He also claims it’s the last Metal Gear that he will be working on – so it’s more than possible that he’ll kill of Snake at the end of the Snake trilogy, just like he killed off Big Boss at the end of the Boss Trilogy.

Also, i`ve been thinking. What if this future, in MGS4 is a future that could happen. A future in which Ocelot took control of the Patriots perhaps?. Maybe if they plan on making more that they focus on snake after MGS2.

Although i will say, in the teaser trailer the scene where the REX/RAY hybrids are running is pretty freaky. I thought at first it was a shit design but the almost human legs makes it look like something out of a sick nightmare.

I found the trailer I saw on G4TV to be more entertaining. The one where Snake and Raiden are fighting for the right to sit in the chair labelled "Main Character", and all the other silly stuff they did.

It took a couple days for me to view the trailer, it was always down, it seems the site cant keep up with the trafic. Try going on late at night, i saw it about 1:am. Its one of the best looking games ive seen, IF its in real time. At the TGS when they were showing it they said that it was all and real time.

The endng of the trailer is really funny. Someone said something about the trailer with Raden in it, people booed when he showed up on the screen, i guess people want there snake.

Well, they’ve confirmed that both Snake and Raiden are in MGS4.

Which is good, ’cause it doesn’t look like Snake is going to keep up!
