WHAO. never heard anything like them either except for this other band called the sugarplastic. you should check them out. you can get their album (from like 1996 or something) on ebay for really cheap, bang the earth is round.

this made me curious about the sugarplastic since i didnt know if they were still around or not, so i searched the net. they are, but their sound is a bit different now. you can listen to some newer stuff here (http://www.3hive.com/archives/2004/05/04/the_sugarplastic.html)
