MASTER OF DISGUISE & EIGHT CRAZY NIGHTS (promo by Marc Ellis) (lossless/flac)

In 2002’s Master of Disguise, comic Dana Carvey stars as Pistachio Disguisey, an Italian waiter with supernatural skills of disguise who must outwit a criminal mastermind who has kidnapped his father. Carvey did admirable impersonations of everyone from Ruth Gordon to George Bush, but co-star Bo Derek earned a Razzie nomination as worst supporting actress of the year.

Master of Disguise was co-produced by Adam Sandler, who also co-produced 2002’s animated Eight Crazy Nights. Sandler lent his voice to the lead character, a party animal sentenced to perform community service as a referee for a kid’s basketball team. The film’s title refers to the eight nights of Chanukah, which is the time frame of the story. The film earned a Razzie nomination for having the most farts of any film that year.

The commercial soundtrack for Master of Disguise had 12 pop vocals from the film, and the soundtrack for Eight Crazy Nights featured 8. Unfortunately, none of Marc Ellis’ playful music was found on either CD. I watched parts of Eight Crazy Nights on TV by chance and liked its catchy score, which is sort of David Newman meets Nino Rota. The film credits listed only Ellis as the composer (as I recall), as does SoundtrackCollector.com. However, it seems Teddy Castellucci contributed some music too, and a promo of just his music is also floating around. This promo from the Blue Focus Agency has music contributed by Marc Ellis, but there’s only 15 minutes of it: 8 short tracks from Master of Disguise, and 6 from Eight Crazy Nights.
