I’ve always liked the credits version of Leaving Earth better than the opening cinematic version. For those of you who don’t know, it’s slowed down slightly, and pitched slightly lower. I’ve always felt it was more somber than the original, which is funny given that all you’re doing when you hear the credits version is watching names scroll up the screen as opposed to the invasion of Earth by Reapers. But it is symbolic of the themes that this game presented and allows you to return to the beginning with the hindsight of all that you have fought for, sacrificed for, and left behind.

But enough sentimentality from me. I don’t know why I didn’t do this sooner. Just took a CD version of Leaving Earth from the official soundtrack and tossed it in Audacity, hit it with a change speed at about 8% (I was mostly trying to make the album version which is about 2:01 match the game-rip version I had which ran about 2:12). Voila, sounds about the same quality as a CD version but with the change in speed and pitch. I was surprised at the lack of any distortion. This’ll sound better than anything on YouTube or even game-rip .ogg’s that you had before.

Shout out to the Leaving Earth end credits version fans! Comment below so I know I’m not the only one out there 🙂

Nice work! Appreciate the effort!

Not a critique of your edit at all, wish they hadn’t included the Reaper "flair" sounds intermittently in the song. Always felt misplaced for what the song was trying to evoke.
