Music for MotD1 is somewhat strange for a horror movie, but just right for early ’70s music. The review from Mark of the Devil | MOVIE MUSIC INTERNATIONAL. (Italiano) (http://jonman492000.wordpress.com/2013/05/22/mark-of-the-devil/) pretty much says it all, especially about MotD 2 " … whether or not the music was specifically composed for the movie is not clear." [Five composers to create 20 minutes of music?]

The original version of "Father Duffy" sounds like skating-rink music and the alternate version seems like it would not be out of place in the 1968 Herman’s Hermits movie Mrs. Brown, You’ve Got a Lovely Daughter (although I’ve never actually seen the movie, I did listen to their music in my youth).

(Maybe it’s just me, but I had the feeling the music of MotD1 was similar to the music for the Polaroid Swinger camera tv commercials of the mid-’60s. Found this on YouTube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h7k2uwJmwxo . And, oh yes indeed, that is Ali MacGraw in the striped top!)
