Manos Hadjidakis is perhaps the most prolific, influential and important Greek composer of contemporary music of the twentieth century, was born in Xanthi, northern Greece on October 23, 1925 and died on June 15, 1994.
Hadjidakis music is notable for its intimate poetic, full of harmonic overtones, surprising melodic combinations rooted in traditional Greek music and a wealth of rhythms and timbres.
