I’m looking for a version of this song… I think I found it on some French Final Fantasy website. I obviously don’t have the file anymore but I really loved this certain version of the song; the bass in it was absolutely crazy.

It is NOT this version by the way:
YouTube – 001 – 'Mambo De Chocobo' (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ByvCt9AZhI)

Does anyone know what arrangement I’m talking about? Can anyone help?

Thanks.

That’s not the one I’m looking for; this version was played with live instruments and it sounded really badass. I don’t know where it’s from though, so I haven’t been able to find it.

I think you might be after the arrangement of Mambo de Chocobo from the FF Mix album. I have this CD but I haven’t ripped it into mp3 format though (as my audio ripping program has corrupted and won’t even reinstall) so I can’t send it to you.

However, I presume by your mention of you formerly downloading it from a ‘crazy French website’, that the site you’re referring to is FF Dream, in which case the whole album, including the individual track itself, can be found there at: http://www.ffdream.com/downld-ostffmix.html

Hope this is what you’re looking for. 😀

That’s actually the version I said I wasn’t looking for.

Augh! It’s killing me; I haven’t been able to find it anywhere. I used to have it!

Sorry, I misread your first post. Posting that Youtube link kinda threw me off :P.

Maybe it’s a fan remix (possibly one of the Overclocked versions? (although the only remix of Mambo de Chocobo I could find at http://www.ocremix.org is ‘Chocobo Robo Voice’ which was the satirical song used in an infamous FF-parody flash video which I presume isn’t the one you’re after.).

Hmmm, to be honest, I’m not really sure about what version you’re looking for I’m sorry. 🙁

Ah, thanks for trying to help out anyways. I wish I could give more information about this version I’m talkin’ about ’cause I really loved it. I’m pretty sure I downloaded it from FFDream, but it doesn’t seem to be there.

Hmmm, I was wondering, could this version actually be Songo de Chocobo from the Japanese FF 1987-1994 arranged album (which was available in the US and other countries as the Tokyopop CD FF N Generation.)? It has a pretty mamboish/swing feel to it, and the CD inlay cover mentions the original version it’s based on comes from ‘FFV’ so although it’s a longshot, it might be just what you’re looking for. 🙂

Hee, I’m glad to have helped. 😀 And yes, it’s an awesome track (I own the FF N Generation CD myself which is why I remembered it). 😉
