I made this as a sister thread to The Surround Game Thread (Thread 182143) (which is currently on hold, sorry). This list won’t cover only surround music, but also dynamic music that works with layers that are activated depending on the player’s actions (like Max Payne 3).

Of course, props go to Alpha23 for his Videogame Music Preservation Project (Thread 119745) and the amazing JoshW archive at HCS (http://hcs64.com/mboard/forum.php?showthread=26929).

Some of these game soundtracks have been posted in their multichannel form as threads here in ffshrine and I will include the links next to the names when I get the chance. I hope to sometime make proper surround versions of all of these and post them to The Surround Game Thread.

The list will be updated as I find more multichannel games. If you know a game with multichannel music that is not listed here, please, post it on a reply! Thank you.

Thanks! The multichannel formats Wii U and 3DS use are interesting. And how could I forget Portal 2’s innovative dynamic music system?

Ape Escape 1, and probably the rest but idk. When Spike crawls anywhere there is a ‘sneaking’ version of whatever zone music is playing.
Found a Let’s Play https://youtu.be/MNotgr9qUf8?t=14m41s for example.
