What do you think about this game being in the same world as FFTAdvance? Personally, I have never played FFTA, but I would have prefered it be in the world of the original FFT (FFT and FFTA I believe were not related at all story-wise)…
And I believe this would be a sequel if I am not mistaken, but in which, it should be FFT-2 or something to that extend…

Anyway, what do you think?

The only relation I have seen is that they are in the same world, and I hope that is the only relation there will be. I really don’t want the gameplay elements from FFT or FFTA to appear in this game because I DON’T like strategy games. They are just not fun to me.

Ahem… their isn’t even that much relation

Basically the world is just named teh same, everything else is different

The only other links are the judges…. which MAY or MAY NOT be major parts of the game (by major I mean main storyline stuff)

Dunno where your getting your info at Cloud, but yes there is much more of a relation than what you posted. The world doesn’t just have the same name… its the same goddamn world! The judges do play a major role in the storyline! The monsters are close to the same also.

I was searching the internet for a translation of that damned prologue on the FF12.com site, and I came across something interesting on SquareAMP. Apparently the prologue is something called the Zodiac Brave Story, a major plot element from the original Final Fantasy Tactics. Not having played Tactics myself (it never got a European release), I have no idea what the hell it’s talking about…

However, it does give me an idea. Perhaps FF12 isn’t just linked to FFTA, it IS the link between FFT and FFTA. Keep in mind I haven’t finished FFTA yet (I started it on my trusty Visual Boy Advance Emulator, but i’m waiting until I get a GBA for Christmas before I get to far – I want to play it through on the actual thing), but this is what i’ve gathered from things so far. FFTA is set in Ivalice, during its infancy – eventually, the Ivalice of FFTA becomes the Ivalice of FF12, with majestic airships and two warring Kingdoms. It’s during this time the Zodiac Brave Story occurs… which, in time, becomes a legend in Final Fantasy Tactics. Perhaps the world in FFT is Ivalice, just the fact the name has been forgotten…

If that’s the case, Square-Enix Europe had better release Final Fantasy Tactics, or i’ll raise hell!

(EDIT: Lucky 7s!!!! (AKA, my 777th post))

(EDIT 2: Cloud, the Judges play a huge role in the game – if you haven’t read Misao’s coverage yet, the main villians (sort of) are the Judges. Not to mention the fact the logo is a Judge.)
