As I stand overhead, looking at the lake,
my breath makes a sudden sharp intake,
a blackbird dies fast, far away,
life here holds me in its very sway.
my breath makes a sudden sharp intake,
a blackbird dies fast, far away,
life here holds me in its very sway.
I look out across the mountain so high,
as mating blackbirds scream a passionate cry,
nature never ending, it will never die,
I know, when the birds dance in the sky.
Smog flows across a polluted land,
natures being hurt by a human hand,
the hand of man,
throwing trash and tin cans.
As I stand overhead, looking at the mire,
my heart wills with an inner fire,
to save nature, that is my desire,
though such a cause seems truly dire.
I dream, I wish, passionately,
from such human hatred I want to flee,
but just like we hold the knife, we hold the key,
to rebuild our world, though not as quickly.

I like this poem. It isn’t as good as the other two I’ve read of yours, but it is still very good. I get what you mean by it, like how humans dont really give a flying rat’s ass for nature, like they take advantage of it. (but it’s obvious in the poem so ya know :P) good job 🙂

Good poem. It doesn’t hold the magic that your other poems did but it’s a great read either way.

Wasn’t really my cup of tea but it was well done.
Your other poems are much better but this was still worth the time to read.
Keep up the good work!
