You’ll have to decide that for yourself. It’s worth noting, however, that the rewards level up with the monsters.

I like it to level up a bit, because the more you fight, the faster your abilitys of your GF can grow. So, whatever you want, it’s all up to you! 🙂

Leveling up allows you to get better drops and magic. Also, when the monsters level up, you can also draw stronger magic. One strategy that might work okay would be to level up to about 50-60 or so and then use the GF Tonberry’s Level Up ability on the monsters. That way, you have more control over it, although it might be a bit more of a challenge.

I would level up the main party to at least 30 so you can draw the best possible magic from each monster, and get the rarer items more easily.

i liked leveling up, it wasn’t all that hard…..but i supose it’d pointless in a way, but on the other hand you cant complete the game if you only level up alittle
i think i beat the game at 50, 47, 30 the first time
then 80, 99, 40 because i leveled up
its fun! besides most of the time you spend exploring is for random battles so go crazy and level up to your highest!

So would you say that leveling up makes it easyer?

who me?
of course it does! leveling up is simply training you for the battles ahead bosses and the final boss in particular.
plus you get sometimes get rare items and draws from feinds/monsters.
but i do it so i can beat the last boss easily and see the ending 😛

yeah that’s a good thing too, it mean’s you can have your summon’s/GF’s/Aeon’s be of the same strength (if not more!) as you

lets theorise here. If it were possible to stay lvl 1 to ultimacea, do ya think that a lvl 1 party could complete that fight? i somehow doubt it.

What do you mean, "if it were possible to stay Level 1?" First of all, it’s not possible for the characters to "stay Level 1" because they never are Level 1. They all start around Level 7.
Second of all, let’s say for the sake of argument that’s what you meant. It is possible to stay at that level.
Oh, and I somehow don’t doubt it:

A) – i meant level 1. I was theorising
B) – while it is possible to stay on 7 and win by the looks of things, it is an ADVANCED challange the autor tells us this
C) – i might try it
However, a good point none the less

Although enemies level up with you, your power increases with leveling up moreso than theirs does. Also, if you spend a great deal of time leveling Squall and Quistis up before the exam and don’t use Quistis, you’ll find that enemies are many times at the level of your weaker characters, so Squall can eradicate them with ease. Aside from that, Gf junction abilities are the real things that make you powerful, and you have to level up to get those.
