I remember having this on LP. Falling in love with Mrs. Peel/ Diana Rigg back in 1968 made it a must have.
It was terribly disappointing. With so much great music available from The Avengers (unlike USA programs of the time, this series often had episodes with original scores) this had weak samples and even the ‘original’ theme was mucked up on this disc.
Probably the time to right this TV soundtrack wrong is long past.
Happily Steed & Mrs. Peel are forever.

There are many different Laurie Johnson original "Avengers" scores, I think that this is just the latest. I had three (I think) in my soundtracks collection before my external hard-drive died on me about 6 months ago. Anyone got any of the others?

I, too, have all the Avengers ever released on CD, and possibly even lp. What I’d like to know is why The Avengers has been so ill-served on record. Not to take away from the Man in a Suitcase or Randall and Hopkirk collections, spanning multi-disks, why has everything Avengers been so disappointing? Why hasn’t this show been rewarded with the multi-disk soundtrack collection it so deserves? And which would probably sell as many units as all the ITC collections put together? Weird.
