So I was wondering what ppl think of Lacuna Coil’s new album Shallow Life.

I for one can say I’m not a fan of it unlike their previous ones.
To me it sounds like they’ve gone a bit too poppy for my liking.
It’s like they’ve taken "Closer" off of Karmacode and used that as a starting point for Shallow Life.

It’s no surprise the more metal-related magazines out there have given it an average review rating whereas the more wide ranging rock mags like Kerrang have rated it pretty highly.

I’m not saying its bad, its just less heavy than before and thus not my thing.
Though its funny how during the recording process Cristina said there was a track that sounded very much like Rammstein’s work. So that did get my hopes up till actually hearing the album.

There albums dont have a lot of depth to them, but the new album does okay i guess.
