SYNOPSIS adaptation of the story of Queen Cleopatra, was the first animated film to receive an X rating, as it contained some female nudes. It is part of the trilogy "Animerama", consisting of "The Arabian Nights" (1969), "Cleopatra" (1970) and "Belladonna of Sadness" (1973). Devised by Osamu Tezuka, the father of manga / anime, the trilogy was characterized by two elements were designed to project on movie screens-a rarity for the time-and it was entertainment for adults, going ahead to works like "Fritz the Cat "by Ralph Bakshi.
