Knock knock,
open the door,
opportunity’s fast,
a painted whore.

Knock knock,
what are you waiting for?
Your life’s so empty,
you know it’s a bore.

Knock knock,
now is your chance,
open the door,
join in the dance.

Knock knock,
the key’s in your hand,
open the door,
make your stand.

Knock knock,
time’s fading away,
take it, grab it,
seize the day.

Slam, slam,
now you’re damned,
the chance is gone,
the future’s bland.

Slam, Slam,
you’ve locked the door,
so damned thirsty,
you die on the shore.

Slam, Slam,
you’ve run out of time,
your life is worthless,
you’re not worth a dime.

Slam, Slam,
say goodbye to your dream,
the anger, the sadness,
you’ll want to scream.

Slam, Slam,
the door is sealed,
with boredom and loss,
your life will be filled.

Wear your chains, they fit you well,
you’ve condemned your self to your own damned hell.
Don’t whine, don’t cry, there’s really no point,
You locked yourself up and designed your own joint.
Don’t wail about how you’re innocent and pure,
You’ve sealed your own fate, your fate you endure.

That was an awesome piece of work. The build up of hope and then the snatching of said hope came across really well. Nicely done. Keep up the good work.

I like your poem. It’s a very… strong and overpowering piece… if you will. 😀 I like the way it starts of with "seizing" and then it winds up with the person loosing what they tried to take.

Great poem. ^__^

Great poem Terri. Even though it’s long it still makes for a good read. I liked the theme and the power of the poem.

Well done.
