It’s crazy to think how this (and his other early films) were reviled at the time and now the British Film Institute has just run a complete

I was a junior in high school when it came out and for a year I spent Friday and/or Saturday at midnight watching "Pink Flamingos." A subversive masterpiece that makes Waters’ subsequent brushes with the MPAA all the more regrettable. (PG-13 and John Waters should not be allowed in the same sentence.) Then again, how does one top a 300 lb. tranny eating dog shit?
