Is it impossible for anyone else to not get a new password

I forgot my old password when i tried to log in today and yesterday
but luckily I had it saved in a mysterious location under the ocean
but when I tried to get a new one resent from this site I couldn’t get past the security code challenge, I type it in correctly but every time I do it always tells me that the string of letters did not match the code. But I typed them all correctly. I checked before I sent the activation but it still didn’t let me get an email.
Is this a problem on my computer only?

It is, indeed, possible for me to not get a new password.
