Instant Teen: Just Add Nuts!

I checked this manga out at a bookstore one time. Ever since TokyoPOP advertised it’s release, I’ve been DYING (figure of speech) to get this book (not really)! I read the story and I thought, It’s a preety good book, but I don’t know why TokyoPOP gave it a YOUTH 7+ rating, because the manga does contain some content that are for teen (like some sexual situations, mind you).

All in all, it’s a great manga to read, full of romance, comdey, plus a little drama here and there. For those who have heard or read the manga, tell me what you all think about it?^_^

So what’s it about?

It’s the story of a energetic fifth-grader named Natsumi Kawashima, who is obsessed with her fantasy of being the ideal, sexy, woman (she’s a bit BIG headed). Rejected at every advance by the cute guys that she "fawns" over, she finally gets a break when she picks up a package of mysterious pink nuts that are for "adults" only!

Eating these nuts causes her to morph into a voluptuous adult (or teenager), and she’s offered modeling opportunites and suddenly becomes noticed by guys who wouldn’t have given her the time of day before.

She’s still a kid inside and is about to learn that things don’t always work out exactly as you hope they will…

So for those who have seen the movie BIG! (Tom Hanks), it’s like that, only for GIRLS!>_<

A fifth grader huh? i’ve yet met a fifth grader that wants to be the sexiest thing ever…

Some girls (no offence to the ladies and gals) can be so…giddy when they want to become a mature (or sexy) woman. I can’t seem to understand that. Natsumi somewhat acts like that (she mosty acts arrogant), about how (sexy) her body looks. She’ll later understand that there’s more to life than just being a BEAUTY QUEEN.^_^

well, if you go out and by some of the 15+ anime, which imo should be rated 17+ lol, it is the same way (im making referance to miyuki-chan in wondereland, amazing nurse nanako), they seem a little to fanservicy, or maby it has some thing else like alot of swearing, for the crowd that they are intended for. and i heard that manga is supposed to all most always be worse (not in a bad way, it isnt worse, what i mean is that the fan service and what not, blood, killing, ‘other things’ are apt to show up in greater numbers then in an anime) then animes in that sense.

…I don’t get it, what does that have to do with Instan Teen? Just asking by the way.^_^
