Who has seen this show, its great.

Well, me but I only saw fourth stage of Initial D but never watch the finale.

i’ve seen initial d, great show for any car fanatic or enthusiest. the animators did a great job with the race scenes and car design, they look like the real cars.

I did buy the manga volumes for about $10 though. I have no real interest in the show, it was just that each set was only $2 at Radioshack, so I bought them all.

Does it merit a read?

the manga is good, but the anime is better just because the car scenes are fully animated with superb skill. drifting actually looks like drifting (some anime don’t really emulate drifting per say) Not to mention the anime has awesome Eurobeat music

the manga is better for those who like manga (well duh), the manga i think goes a little more in depth with character development than the anime does

The dub sucks, watch the subs ;).

in all honestly, the only reason why i watched a whole episode was because i thought it sucked so bad it was hilarious. not to upset any of you who actually like it, but what really gets me going is that "EEENEEEETAAAALLL DEEEEEE"

Fast and the Furious stole their idea, Initial D is much better in my opinion.

I wonder if Wangan Midnight would be as successful as Initial D if it made an anime. That actually came out as a manga before Initial D was ever created. Regardless, I-D is still a good anime/manga, and their games are awesome as well.

Drift Is Not Yours So Keep Your Filthy Hollywood Mitts Off of it… If i See Another Movie Made By Americans About Drifting Im Going to Scream… The Fact They Put An Sr20dett Engine From A Siliva Into An Old Mustang Is Just Disgusting… And Besides If its A Spec R Engine Its turbo And Therefore A Naturally Aspirated Muscle Car Legend Of Yore Is Not Going To Be Feasible With The Insertion Of This Engine…

Also The japanese Culture In That Movie Was Just Shameful… Come On… In Japan Most Drifting Is Done By Proffessionals In The D1 On The track Or By Young Entusiats On the Mountains… Not Yakuza Crimelords In The Streets Kthx…

I thought this was a good movie! The music in it made me laugh at times though:laugh: but I thought it was a cool racing movie:coolegg:

Initial D is a great anime. Infact it is what got me interested in cars and racing.
Though the english dub is horrible, anyone else who hase seen it would have to agree, so I highly recomend that anyone who plans on watching the anime NOT to touch the english dub and instead watch it with subs (you’ll be much better off).

Actually, it was an RB26 DETT. The S15 had an engine swap as well lol, hence the RB.

I love Initial D, because I like Eurobeat music. "Night of Fire" from Japanese episode 23 is my favorite song.

i hate initial d.

i saw it some time ago, 4 episodes, didnt like it at all.
it was so long ago that i forgot why i hate it, but one that doesnt leave my mind is that the drawing style is downright ugly IMO.
