Recently it has come to my attention that the FFT for the gameboy advance will NOT be a port of the original game, but an entirely new game produced for the GBA. Release date is January 2003. (In Japan, no US date as of yet). The game has been built from the ground up. The story takes place in a town called ST. Ivaries, and the game features new characters, jobs, and a revamped combat engine. So, what do you all think?

Is it going to be a sequel to FFT or will it be unrelated to it?

I doubt a direct sequel, but from what i have seen it sure looks like a prequel.

I know in FFT, there was a Saint Ivalice…this might be related somehow…but as for a prequel…I saw screenshots of the game that had a car in it…I suppose if it took place back when robots were around (Worker 8?), than its possible.

Kick ass, I originally wasnt planning on buying it but now that its a totally different story all together then Im very interested.

C’mon David,I thought you already knew it was different, anyways, other than the name, and similar bettle system, such as jobs, abilities, equipment interfaces and the like, pretty much all characters and places,as well as the story are completely different, just as FFVII is to FFVIII,you could say….

Nah actually I didnt because I based my knowledge of it from the earlier news standings for it when it was still made as a port.
