In Pursuit of Honor & Class of ’61 (promo with music by John Debney) (lossless/FLAC)

Class of ’61 refers to 1861, and this 1993 made-for-TV movie follows a group of West Point graduates and their friends who find themselves on opposite sides of the Civil War. The film was part of a planned series from producer Steven Spielberg about the American Civil War and for it composer John Debney provided an appropriately patriotic score, sensitive and folksy.

In 1995’s In Pursuit of Honor, the military has become more mechanized and General MacArthur orders the cavalry to shoot hundreds of now-useless army horses. A group of compassionate men refuses his command and finds themselves in a desperate fight to save the animals, while fleeing the bullets of the military they disobeyed. For this emotional TV movie, Debney gave us another stirring, patriotic score.

*You may wonder, what about Film Music of John Debney Volume 1? The promo for White Fang 2 on the Disney label says it is Volume 1, but knowing how Disney runs such a tight ship I find it odd they’d label a promo as such, and additionally never release another volume. And I see no logic for why volume 2 would then appear on a private Belgian label. I’m thinking the Disney promo for White Fang 2 may not be legit. Feel free to educate me!
