They list the top 25 games for pc and last gen systems. What are your thoughts?

I’m shocked that Tales of Symphonia did not make it into the GameCube 25. And there was no Dance Dance Revolution entry in any of the lists. And Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XII’s disclusion shocked me. I was also shocked to not see a SmackDown VS RAW game in the PS2 list.

I can’t beleive that X-COM: UFO Defense as first on the PC list I have never even heard of it, no Black and white on the PC list pisses me off even more.

PS2 list was ok, KH was too low for me, should of been in the top 15 at least, though pleased to see FFX high on the list.

They called XII possibly the best FF ever made, yet they did not list it in the top 25.

I trust IGN completely and it’s a highly respected site, so you can’t argue its choices completely just because it doesn’t suit your own personal preferences. I agree almost 100%, but there are of course some personal favorites I would have loved to see included.

X over XII is lunacy, but that’s coming from me, so take that with a pillar of salt, please.

While that is true, I am simply giving my opinion on the lists, I agree with them on some cases and do not on other cases.

That’s why I hate IGN.

I think FFXII is still too new to make a final evaluation on it. Lasting power. Many of these games are at least 3 years old. I’m sure it’ll be included if they make another list two to three years from now, it’s just too new to live up to its full potential as a classic.

That’s the thing about IGN, a damn good majority of their reviews put off an air that screams final evaluation.

And that’s a bad thing? Personally, I’d much rather have a game with lasting power, than just another "flavor of the month" kind of game.

Just note when they usually write reviews. They don’t write-up initial and final evaluations, they judge games almost immediately after their release. Then again, "lasting power" is more of a relative term and should be left to the gamer rather than a paid columnist.

I prefer GameSpot when it comes to gaming reviews.

I REALLY DON’T CARE WHAT THEY SAY BECAUSE THEY NEVER AGREE WITH ME

as in Suikoden III/V would be no.1/no.2 in PS2 and if 3 make 5 should too b/c 5 was pretty darn good if not better

I hope people read in between the lines when they read some of my posts. I hate IGN because they damn-near contradict themselves in everything they do.
