Would you have went with Aeris (or Aerith for the people who actually prefer that name)? Or would you have gone a different route and chosen Tifa?
I personally liked Aeris like twice as much as Tifa, so I would’ve chosen Tifa to go.

My copy of the game said Aeris, so that’s what I always called her. She was the most important person in my party. I was constantly using her Healing Wind limit break. Once she was gone…………….. I was mad. I would keep her over Tifa.

Aeristh is super useful in battle, but as I go more for story in most instances, she annoyed me enough that I used her less than I probably should have. I did not care when I lost her 😀

I don’t understand questions like this, Aeris/Aerith dying in the game has a very important purpose in the game, as she casts Holy. The delay in finding out that she casted it and then making the final strides to defeat Sephiroth would not have happened if Tifa died. Their personalities are completely different and Tifa would never have run away on her own to cast Holy. Not only that, but Aerith is arguably the only one who could actually cast it. Tifa didn’t know of its existence at that part of the game.
So questions like this baffle me. It’s like saying should Vanille and Fang turn to crystal in the end of FF13 or Hope and Snow, or something. These things happen because the plot entwines its way for it to happen.
If you’re asking based on how useful they are in battle, well I personally liked Tifa’s limit break much more than Aerith’s, so my decision works Aerith dying regardless.
