Here’s my suggestion for a new type of RPG.
The basic moving around in the world maps remains the same, but the battle system is real time. The battle system is like a FPS so that you improve hand eye co ordination, and possibly reaction time. What do you think?

I think that’s pretty much Elder Scrolls (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_elder_scrolls)/Bioshock (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bioshock).

Yea this is a good idea you thought of, funny that it’s out already though hehehe! 🙂

You should play that type of game. They are called "First person rpg’s" I believe. I’ve called them pc style or western style rpg’s in the past though.

I recommend The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, Overlord, Two Worlds, Bioshock, Mass Effect, Gothic 3, Fable, Diablo, there’s some more games, that’s where to start researching.

Go to en.wikipedia.org and search for the game. Basically this "First person rpg" seems to be replacing kinda the "Action rpg’s" I think.

EDIT:

Read that, it talks about the genre

What I mean is that it’s like Final Fantasy, or Super Mario RPG when moving around and not in battle, and like Battlefield 2, or Counter-Strike when you enter a battle, meaning the battle system is completely different from the exploration. I think this will give you more ideas, or something like that.

Thankfully, there aren’t. It’s one of the worst ideas I’ve ever heard of.

Sounds just like Oblivion.

No it doesn’t. Oblivion’s gameplay is pretty much seamless. What this person is suggesting is that you travel around in a third-person view and engage in random battles where you fight FPS style.

I do that in Oblivion, whenether I’m walking around I’m in Third Person, when I’m under attack I switch to first person, kinda the same expect that the battles aren’t random.

That sounds like an absolute crap idea.
