I just got Final Fantasy 8 last friday and somethings still remain a mystery to me. This is my first FF experience, so naturally Im not familiar with alot of the Final Fantasy technicalities. Could some please explain limit breaks, GF boosting, and that dreaded card game!! I played Cid after I became SeeD and lost the two best cards I had. . . which was all due to inexperience. . .actually I had no idea what i was doing! I’ve tried to find this information elsewhere, guides, online, in forums. Maybe im not looking hard enough. Any help would be appreciated. P.S. My GF’s have the boost ability learned.

The tutorials should explain what you need for the GF boosting and limit breaks, if you still in the garden you can access them from your computer in the classroom…….and as for the card game don’t worry about losing your best cards you’ll soon get better one’s, and it is’nt that difficult to get the hang of……well until the damn card queen starts messing with the rules =)

Yeah, avoid playing Triple Triad with the "Random" rule because it will easily spread throughout the place and you will end up playing with the "Random" rule everytime… which is a pain, because you don’t get to pick your own cards.
And just like what Rhyfelwyr said, the tutorials should explain the limit breaks of the characters and things about the GF’s.

Save before engaging anyone in the card game, that way if you lose anything, you can just reset. Don’t skip saving unless you’re 100% confident you’re not gonna lose, unless you want the chance of being screwed. That’s what I always do anyway. 😀

One thing that helped me in Final fantasy VIII(and in other final fantasy’s) is Starting from the beggining some times, because you will start to understand better somethings that you previosly didn’t understand… Like the whole GF things, the second time I’ve started the game it became alot easier(because the first time i didnt realise the whole learning ability’s stuff)…

Restarting a game is ok sometimes, as long as you wernt too far into the game, because then its just anoying. But the tutorials should explain it all including the card game. If you still dont under stand after the tutorials read them again, it helped with me. The tutorials can also be accesed through the menu.
