Alright, while I was out I’ve been keeping myself busy with Final Fantasies VII, VIII and X, and I couldn’t help but to notice some weird twilight-zone similarites. Like for example, Wakka has the same hair-do as Zell, when Sin transformed he looked a lot like the Ragnarock, and the lionheart and Omnislash look kinda similar.

But there is one that I find as a direct relation between FFVII and FFVIII. Final Fantasy VII introduced us to Nanaki, or Red XIII. He had an uncle who was human and lived for more than a hundred years. Now Final in Fantasy VIII, we were exposed to the Shumi tribe that evolved into a number of sub-species one of which was the moomba, a cat-like creature with a bright red coat with a white face and stomach, they look like baby Nanakis. Well, my question is this, is Red XIII a Shumi and could he be one of those moomba’s ancestors?

I thank you for your input.

No, I think they don’t make that kind of connection between any FFs, except for FFX and FFX-II, or unless that connection is really small such as Zidan saying something that idicates he knows Cloud.

First of all, look at them, they don’t look alike at all, well,,,, only colours are same.

the only connection i ever see deals with the characters fighting techniques etc. but thats only becuase there are only so many ways a character can fight and have a personality.

for examples: ff7 had tifa, the kickboxing, no weapon wielding fighter. ff8 had zell, the kickboxing, no weapon wielding fighter.

vii had the main character using a sword, viii had the gunblade, ix had a bladed weapon as well, and x had a sword.

yuffie, selphie, and rikku are similar in the way they dress, battle, and act–more in some ways than others (they are all 3 the little cutesy female character, and yuffie and rikku are both thieves and can mix–ninjas)

you get the idea.

As I said.
It’s just the designers being unoriginal.
