The soundtrack was the first entirely composed by Friedhofer, who before that, was well known as arranger and orchestrator for Alfred Newman, Max Steiner and Erich W. Korngold scores.

It never was released, except on a re-recording as suite with 13 minutes of lenght, released in 1997 by Marco Polo with others Friedhofer’s works, which were The Lodger, The Rains of Ranchipur and Seven Cities of Gold.
The original recordings for these last two have been released twice, first by Varese in 2006 and then Kritzerland in 2012. A re-recording for The Lodger was released in 1999, also by Marco Polo.

What is shared here, had as source the original audio track on Dolby Digital from the DVD.
The purpose was to extract as much score as possible, so dialogue and louder sound effects were removed.
On some moments the cuts reveal where it was done, on others is hardly noticeable.
The amount of music left, under intense dialogue or sound effects, won’t sum up to five minutes.
The original audio had volume level variations to accomodate dialogue.
It was smoothed, for this reason some parts have higher hiss level, noise reduction wasn’t used.
To enhance listenability, equalization and reverb were applied. Demonstrating the high fidelity of the Western Eletric equipment.

The custom cover was made by me.
