Try this:
http://sourceforge.net/projects/vgmstream
VGMStream allows for playing many different audio types commonly used in many video games. It is the successor to in_cube ( http://www.hcs64.com/in_cube.html ) and a compatibility list for in_cube is here:
http://www.hcs64.com/mboard/gcstreamdb.php
Note that, while in_cube is specifically Gamecube, many of the file formats it plays are also included in some PS2/Xbox/PC/etc games… so the compatibility list will note some games for other systems, especially Wii.
Hope that helps 🙂

Ho do you use this stuff? Are they the types of programs that only superhackers and people who can read computer-speak can use? I think I’m over-complicating things.

Those programs are plugins for Winamp (probably foobar too) that let you play music from the games, but you or someone else has to rip it first. The plugins are easy, the ripping is more complicated and can range in difficulty from game to game. You can use the search function and look through threads here about music ripping. There are a bunch.

I know that a few PC games store the music in a folder where you installed the game to ("C:\Program Files" most likely). All you would have to do is look through the game’s files. If the game did it like that, then it should either already be in MP3 or can be easily converted.

Very few are stored IMO most of the music is in the ISO…so dumping the ISO will be necessary.

You know what, I take that back. A lot of those programs do work, I just ended up starting backwards in my learning process again >.< I put Wild Arms in to test them out after a lot of failure and a few of them worked like a charm. My experiments have now lead me to this…… lesson noted, burn iso to disc first, then try to rip…
