I dont know if there is actually a way to get "easy" gil, but if you try not to use too many items, you can sell them. The same with your weapons. 😉

You can also steal money from the monsters. But that should be enought gil, dont you think? 🙂

Oh yeah, I forgot to tell. You can steal the most gil from "mimic". Youll find this one at the omega-cave. 😉

Actually, you can’t steal gil from Mimic. First, go to the Omega Ruins. Run around there and fight some enemies. Eventually, you will encounter a "treasure chest" as one of the enemies, which will be accompanied by another enemy, called Zauras. So, on this battle screen, will be one Zauras, and one treasure chest. Steal from the treasure chest first, because the battle ends if you destroy the Zauras. And, you wouldn’t want to leave a treasure chest behind now would you? Anyways, when you steal from it, you will either recieve an item, or it will transform into mimic. After it has transformed into Mimic, then you can destroy it. After the battle is over, you will recieve a ton of gil. Mimics give you 50,000 gil each! But, this isn’t all.

Customize one of your characters weapons with the Gillionaire ability, thus giving you twice as much gil for each battle. However, this character must be in your party before the battle ends, or else you will just get the original amount of gil.

So, that being said, you can earn up to 100,000 gil in one battle, if you have everything configured correctly!

I think there is the other way to get tons of gil within a short time.
Go to the monster arena and kill certain monsters which leave some items and you can sell them for unbeliebable price or you can customise you weapons or armours with them and eventually sell them.

As smokey said, killing treasure chests in the Omega Ruins with a gillionaire equipped weapon is probably the quickest way to do it. 100,000 gil per battle is very helpful if you are trying to save up for something crazy expensive.

The gillionaire ability can be customized by combining 30 designer wallets in the customization menu.

The absolute best, quickest money-making trick in FFX is this:

Go to Kilika Port and buy as many four-slot armor with HP +5% (or it’s HP +10%) from the merchant there as you can fit in your inventory. Go to the Monster Arena and overkill Kottos. He will usually drop 40 of an item called Healing Salt (I think that’s the name of it, if not, it doesn’t matter.) After every two times fighting him, go into Customize and use them to customize SOS Regen onto as many of those armors you bought as possible. Keep repeating, until you’ve got it on all of the ones you’ve bought. Sell them off for an awesome return on the original price you paid.

P.S.: Kottos also sometimes drops good weapons and armor. Make sure to leave a few spaces open in your inventory so you can sell those off too.
