How Long Can It Last?

The Final Fantasy Series has been going on for a long time now, but how much longer can it last before it dies out?

What a morbid question to ask in an FF Shrine Forum…. ::shivers:: I think that Final Fantasy has many more years before it even begins to die. Final Fantasy is becoming more and more popular with a wider variety of gamers. If Square can keep this momentum up, the series won’t be going anywhere soon.

If Square can manage the quality that it has now, and still can add new stuff to the FF series. Make the game greater then the last and change with time. Then there’s a big change for FF to last forever and maybe even longer. If not…. then I think FF will go out with a blast with their 25th game and also the last.

I think a long time. As long as the ppl from Square are creative enough to create these addictive games, there will be new games coming

I heard that the last FF will be either FF15 or FF20

I can remeber when 1 came out and it was the basis for most role playing games after that. it is a clasic and I think that they will also be around for a long time. espsially with the online cabiblities that XI is going to bring. I mean look at how popular everquest is. That will just add momentum. and Ten was a master work in its own. so I think as long as they have new story lines that the serries will be ever fresh. thus all it depends on is the creativity of the people at Square. I for one say that the best things should never die. and the Final Fantasy series falls into that catagory in my book.

You could at least have given us some source.. link to the site where ya found that or something.. Before you spread out rumors that aren’t true XDDD

I personally think it’s already pretty much died out. FFVIII wasn’t much good, haven’t played FFIX, and I’m not interesting one bit in FFX.. The old school FF’s were much more interesting X_x;
If ya need a number though, I’d say FFXII tops, not more.. 😮

How can you say 12 tops?:eek: 8 wasn’t that bad, and 9 is worth playing. 10 is great, but it is your opinion and I respect it,…I guessnotgood: . But I too have to admit that it’s fame and creativity will prabably die out by 14 or 15, if we can be that lucky. Hopefully it lasts forever, but that only happens in dreams and fantasies…:Sad: :

Well, whenevr the last one occurs, I hope they do something REALLY special for it, and I don’t mean the last episode of Seinfeld special, I’m talking monumental. Chocobos, mogs, and a villian who is more memorable than Kefka with a storyline that really moves you.

actually with 11 turning the way it is, 12 could be the last. with an mmorpg as big as ff11 i wouldn’t expect to see a new ff after 12 for about 4 to 5 years. but who kno’s, maybe square will have new idea’s for a new mmorpg version of final fantasy and create final fantasy 13 or somethin. but since there will be expansions to ff11 who kno’s:cool:

When i first herd that FFXI was going to be online i thought that would be the last…it would make sense to leave us all with a game that they can continue to update and we can play for as long as the server is still around.

Well FF always does good on the market, so I hope it continues forever. I know it won’t but i’m still hoping for a long life. But even when FF dies out, I’ll still play it, as they are probably the favorite games I will ever play. 12 might turn out to be the last, but hopefully not.

I think that they should come up with a new series, but I think that the FF series is going to be a great long running series.

I think the FF series will go on forever they’ll just probably make differn’t names like Final Fantasy Adventures and other titles but will still be FF games. Because if the titles keep going up and we get to a 25 it’ll be pretty sad looking, I think they’ll start calling them differen’t names by FF15

i think square after XII will stop for awhile and create new original titles like they did in the late 90’s. then were gonna be like where is FF? and the its gonna turn into a metal gear thing where 10 years later we get a new ff XIII and its probably gonna kick ass. and during all this time they are updating and creating new expansions for the very big and popular XI

Well, I certainly hope that the series will last a long time, but maybe it’ll die at the 19th or something. *Just a thought*
