How do you get the Master Magic Materia?

Hi!

I’m in a bit of a rut. I have collected every single magic materia orb in Final Fantasy VII. I remember reading that if you approach the huge green materia in Bugenhagen’s observatory, and have collected all magic materia orbs, you will receive a master magic.

In my case, the normal thing happens:

"Huge materia glows strangely"

"Look Closer"

"The materia emitted a gentle glow"

"This colour is the same as that of magic materia!"

Can someone help me please? I’m starting to think that the game is malfunctioning. But of course that can’t be the case. I’ll appreciate any help.

I think you have to master every Magic Materia in the game as well.

or you can get it from beating either Ruby or Emerald weapon.

Yes, you have to master them all, not just collect them. The same goes with summon and command materia, but you only have to master like nine command materia.

Then I’ll just get weapons with triple and double growth slots and wait until I reach MASTER level with everything. Whoa! That’s gonna take long. Phew!!

I’m not sure…but for example, Cid’s Scimitar has triple growth. There are very few triple growth weapons, and they have very few materia slots.

Their is only 2 of these in the game, Cids Scimitar is on the platform before you steal the submarine and Clouds Apocalypse is in the Ancient Forest near Cosmo Canyon. You need to have either killed Ultimate Weapon or bred a green chocobo to get their though.

You get Master Materia when you master every single materia in that materia category. After you master a category go to bugens observetory and click the huge materia of the mastered category and you will obtain the master materia of it.

No, he will give you Underwater materia for the guidebook which takes away the 20 minute timer when fighting Emerald Weapon. You need to beat Emerald Weapon (a long drawn out process which I`m not gonna go into) which will get you the Earth Harp which you then give to the Kalm traveller in exchange for Master Magic, Master Command and Master Summon.

What would you people do without me??

but beating the underwater weapon is hard and i have almost every matrea includeing knights of round but my char are only like level 40-55

Very last resort. I’m trying to get a ribbon off master tonberry so I can beat Ruby. I got one, then got a game over because I forgot my way out and Tonberry came back and was unstoppable.

Your being a bit melodramatic, Tonberry only has about 40,000 HP so he should be ready to morph in about 4 or 5 hits. I think Everyones Grudge does more damage if a character is wearing a ribbon or is it based on how many enemiies the character has killed?, thats one thing I cannot remember. Their is a point in the crater where your characters split up, you have to climb the stalagmite looking rock back up from this point, then it is quite easy to come back out the crater.

Cloud’s Apocalypse is another. I think they’re the only two, and both have three materia slots only if I remember correctly.

Scimitar has 2 slots which are linked and Apocalypse has 3 separate slots.
