Sounds to me like you’re missing both volumes of the "Magical Dances" key item. One of them is obtained by completing the Den Of Woe (Crimson Squad) sidequest. Offhand, I believe the other is received after taking care of things at the Bikanel Desert.

Agent0042 is right, the den of woes is the first place you get one, and the other, you just keep digging in the desert, eventually, you’ll find it, it’s really nothing speical either 😀

No, just beat him. Make sure you get all the Crimson Spheres so that you’ll be able to unlock the Den of Woe in Chapter 5. Some of them can be gotten at any time, some are automatically received, but there are at least a couple that you only have one shot at.
